Tim Horton is the wide receivers coach at the United States Air Force Academy, a position he assumed in 1999. In addition to his position coaching responsibilities, Horton assists with the special teams’ kick-blocking, kickoff-return, and hands teams. Under Horton’s tutelage, the Falcons’ receivers have developed into one of the Mountain West Conference’s strongest receiving units. Horton came to the Academy from Appalachian State, where he was on the staff from 1990-’98. During his tenure on the Mountaineers’ staff, Appalachian State won two conference titles and made it to the Division AA playoffs five times. A 1990 graduate of Arkansas, where he earned four letters as a three-year starter as a receiver and punt returner for the Razorbacks, Horton is widely respected as one of the top young coaches in the game.
